Helen White said: “In the atmosphere of haste and fuss and world confusion the true godliness and devotion to God take a back seat”. I don’t want God and everything He prepared for me take the back seat of my life, I don’t want to forget about Him and about how much He does for me every day. I want to learn to value it. 7 reasons why I want to take part in this project 1. To become closer to God. During academic year days are all absolutely different. Sometimes I felt like God was especially close to me, sometimes vice versa – I didn’t feel Him at all. We often turn away from God, not He from us. One of the most important things for me is to feel His presence, to be near, close to Him. With every day I want my relationships with God to strengthen, I want them to be so strong so that nothing could destroy them. 2. To strengthen my faith. God strengthens our faith through different circumstances. For some of us to hear is enough, for some to see, others have to go through something. That is why I think my faith becomes stronger in certain circumstances, when God takes me in His hands and starts changing me as He sees it. I understand that my faith is small and it should be strengthened, that is why I think this project will help me in this, I’m certain of this because of previous projects’ experience. 3. To know His wonderful will more. Every one of us is trying to understand: “What does God want from me? What can I do for Him? Why me? What is the purpose?”, we have many similar questions, we constantly try to understand: “Is what we do enough for Him?”. Once we found the answer to one question, another appears. The important thing is: “What is God’s will for my life?” I know that it’s impossible to comprehend God’s will fully, but He reveals to us what is enough for us to know. 4. God wants me to do it. Before going somewhere or take part in something we ask God if He wants us to do it. God reveals His decision after a certain period of time, it may be “Yes” but it also may be “No”. In the Gospel from Matthew 28:19 God tells us: “Therefore go and make disciples…”, here is call to ministry, God addresses to everyone. If He says these words to all people, it means that He does to me personally. We can accept the call, we may refuse from it, I don’t want to turn down the opportunity to glorify God, because I know He will come soon, sooner than we think, and ask me – “Why didn’t I do everything He commanded me?” 5. It is one of the opportunities to serve the Lord. When we do what He requires from us, we prove that we love Him not by our words but by our deeds. It is a privilege to do something for God; unfortunately not all of us understand this. Somebody once said: “The most wonderful thing is to be a pawn in God’s hands”, I agree to that. When you do something for God, you enjoy it and know that this is what the Lord expects from you. 6. To show non-Christians that life with God is great. It is much easier to tell somebody about Christ than to show Him through your life. I don’t know if I am able to show who Christ is through my life, but honestly I will try. Without any doubts it is complicated, nobody said that it would be easy. That is why let’s take the armor of God and show to others how much we have in Him, how rich we are. 7. To meet new people and get to know old friends more. When you spend a lot of time with a person, you get to know him/her better, his/her habits, what he/she does during free time, how he/she spends it. God gives us friends so that they support us, help and just be near. Nevertheless we should always give our priority to God… |
