Hello! Wow, I can’t believe this will be my third time to be apart of the mission impossible project! I have been truly blessed to be apart of such an amazing opportunity, which has become such a passion of mine! Each time is a new experience in which I grow and learn more. Before I tell you why I want to apart of MI 7 this year, I would like to tell you a bit about myself. I am nineteen years old and I am from Memphis Tennessee. I go to Mississippi State University where I will be a sophomore (second year). I play the violin, I love to travel, ride horses and meet new people! God has really blessed me! One of His many and amazing blessing that He has given me is to be able to go to Ukraine and be involved in such a special experience! I could go on about why I wish to be apart of MI7 but I will try and keep it to seven reasons! ☺
Leadership- I feel that MI7 will give me another opportunity to be apart of a leadership experience. The mission impossible projects have taught me many things about leadership and responsibility. It has helped to teach me about Christ and His example of what a true and gracious leader looks like. I think that MI7 will allow not only leadership experience but also teach me more about Christ as a leader through our mission work as I try and follow in His footsteps. Discipleship- Of all my reasons for wanting to be in mission impossible 7, being a disciple for the Lord is the most important for me! As Christ has called all Christians to be disciples for Him, I come to Ukraine hoping to fulfill that command. I believe that mi7 will give me another avenue to spread God’s Word. I am excited for God to use me to shed His light on others. It is not always easy to do, but I am ready for the challenge. After all, Jesus died for me! I want to share my relationship with Christ to others and how it has wonderfully impacted my life for forever! Learning Experience- Being apart of mission impossible five and six taught me more than I ever imagined possible. I believe that mission impossible 7 will teach me even more. I hope that I mill continue to learn more about Christ and how He works in wondrous ways. I hope to learn more about my friends, the new people that I will meet and the different cultures. With each new experience I hope to continue to apply it to my everyday life. I cannot wait to see what new lessons God has in store for me in mission impossible 7! Friendship- I can’t wait to rekindle old friendships and start new ones at mission impossible 7! The friends that I have made in the past mission impossible projects have been yet another wonderful blessing from God. It is comforting and amazing to know that there are people across the world that believe in the same Jesus as I do! I also hope to meet new people that do not know the Lord and build a friendship with them and use that friendship as an outlet to tell them about the Word. To Be Tested- Many times God calls us to leave our comfort zone and share His Word. It is hard to do because, if you are like me, it is easy to want to stay in our secure bubble, but that is not what God has asked us to do as Christians. I have to remind myself that God did not stay at home where he was safe from persecution while He walked on this earth. No, he walked out in the streets where he was made fun of, he hung out with the gross sickly people that no one else would talk to, he was mocked, and yet He kept on walking. He kept teaching, loving, sharing and instructing. He did not let these things stop Him from accomplishing His goal. So, I remind myself of His example on earth and that I am not suppose to remain in my comfort zone, that I should go out and shed his light and be an outlet for his grace to shine through. I believe that mission impossible 7 is one of those outlets for God to use me. I want to be tested and used by God. I hope that God will do both during mission impossible 7. Relationship- Having a strong relationship with Christ is vital. It cannot be one sided. He of course is always there, waiting, when I have gone astray. I have to work at building my relationship with Him everyday but it is hard because I am a sinner. I let my everyday life get in the way. I, many times, put school, friends and my family before Him. He has to constantly bring my attention back to Him and remind me that I am nothing without Him. Different experiences in my life teach me something new about God. When He puts me in certain situations and tests me, I learn something about Him. I think that, like previous projects, I will yet learn something new and amazing about our Lord during mission impossible 7. Example- I hope to be used as an example during mission impossible 7. I know that I am by no means perfect but I hope to be used by God to help others and to influence them in a positive way. As I hope to have the opportunity to share my faith with non Christians, I also hope that I can show them that faith by the way I live my life. I hope that they see Christ through the example that I lead. I cannot wait to be back in Ukraine and be apart of the mission impossible 7 project! I am excited to see how God will use me and I am excited to see old friends and meet new ones! God Bless you! |
